Security Engineer, Firewalls & DLP
Overview
You will own firewall operations and DLP enforcement for a large enterprise client in Dallas, TX. You will manage Cisco ASA and FXOS deployments alongside Palo Alto and Panorama systems, ensuring secure and compliant traffic flow. You will tune Symantec DLP policies and collaborate with network teams on routing and load balancing. This contract role offers direct impact on security posture with a market rate of $45-$50 per hour.
What You'll Do7
- 1Configure and maintain Cisco ASA and FXOS firewalls to enforce security policies across the network.
- 2Deploy and manage Palo Alto and Panorama rule sets, troubleshooting connectivity and policy issues.
- 3Design and implement routing changes to support firewall segmentation and failover scenarios.
- 4Operate and tune Symantec DLP to detect and prevent data exfiltration across endpoints and networks.
- 5Collaborate with network engineers to integrate F5 load balancers for high-availability services.
- 6Document firewall changes and security incidents to ensure audit readiness.
- 7Respond to firewall alerts and conduct root cause analysis for security events.
Requirements7
- 13+ years of experience in security engineering with hands-on firewall management.
- 2Production experience with Cisco ASA and FXOS platforms.
- 3Deep knowledge of Palo Alto and Panorama management and rule optimization.
- 4Solid understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and their impact on security zones.
- 5Working knowledge of Symantec DLP for content inspection and policy enforcement.
- 6Familiarity with F5 load balancers for traffic distribution and SSL offload.
- 7Strong troubleshooting skills and clear communication for cross-team collaboration.
