Security Firewall Engineer, Palo Alto & Cisco
Overview
Own the design, deployment, and operation of enterprise-grade firewall infrastructure across Palo Alto, Cisco, and Azure platforms. You'll join a security engineering team of 6, reporting to the Network Security Manager, supporting a hybrid cloud environment with 15,000+ users. This role drives zero-trust segmentation and remote access hardening.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and deploy Palo Alto firewall rulebases for new application segments within 90 days.
- 2Migrate legacy Cisco ASA policies to Cisco Secure Firewall with no downtime.
- 3Implement Azure Firewall policies to protect cloud workloads and enable transit connectivity.
- 4Automate configuration backups and compliance checks using Ansible and Python scripts.
- 5Tune intrusion prevention signatures and threat prevention profiles across all platforms.
- 6Collaborate with network engineers to align routing and NAT with firewall security zones.
- 7Produce quarterly security posture reports highlighting risks and remediation actions.
Requirements6
- 17+ years hands-on firewall engineering with Palo Alto and Cisco platforms.
- 2Expert-level knowledge of Palo Alto GlobalProtect and Cisco AnyConnect remote access.
- 33+ years designing and operating Azure Firewall in enterprise environments.
- 4Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, and VXLAN in a data center context.
- 5Proven ability to troubleshoot complex multi-vendor firewall and routing issues.
- 6Experience with Python or Ansible for automation and orchestration tasks.
