School Age Childcare Site Director, Before & After School
Overview
Childcare Site Director leads a school-based before and after school program for ages 5–12 at Minadeo Elementary School in Pittsburgh. Owns regulatory compliance, program quality, and family communication at scale across morning and/or afternoon sessions. Works with a team to deliver STEAM, fitness, academics, and enrichment activities in a safe, structured environment. This role centers on building a positive, child-focused program aligned with school hours and community goals.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build compliant operations by maintaining PA DHS/OCDEL records and audit-ready documentation
- 2Lead engaging activities across STEAM, fitness, academics, arts, and homework support to drive participant outcomes
- 3Actively supervise children and staff with strong behavior management and safe playground oversight
- 4Oversee daily attendance, registration, and scheduling to ensure accurate program delivery
- 5Serve as liaison between families, school administration, and the Healthy Kids Programs main office
- 6Communicate clearly with families and school partners using the Playground App and other tools
- 7Scale routines to support consistent staffing levels and program quality
- 8Design and implement activity calendars that align with school calendar and child development goals
- 9Ensure safety protocols and incident reporting meet regulatory and organizational standards
- 10Foster a welcoming, inclusive culture for children, families, and staff
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or related human services field plus 1 year of experience with children under 13
- 2Bachelor's Degree including 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or related field plus 2 years of experience
- 3Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or related field plus 3 years of experience
- 4Associate's Degree including 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or related field plus 4 years of experience
- 5Must pass full background check including fingerprinting and reference checks
- 6Medically fit to perform job duties including a clear TB test
- 7Strong leadership and communication skills
- 8Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
