Robotics Engineer - Magna Powertrain
Overview
Design and lead the development of robotic systems and automation solutions at Magna Powertrain. You will own plant automation projects ensuring high performance and reliability. This role offers a chance to shape the future of mobility while working in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and develop robotic systems equipment and automated machinery
- 2Program and configure robots using appropriate languages and control systems
- 3Develop and test robotic software algorithms and applications
- 4Integrate sensors vision systems and control technologies into robotic platforms
- 5Troubleshoot hardware software and operational issues
- 6Conduct performance testing and analyze system efficiency and reliability
- 7Collaborate with cross functional teams including engineering manufacturing quality and operations
- 8Create technical documentation specifications and user manuals
- 9Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- 10Support installation commissioning maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives
- 11Participate in continuous improvement activities submit improvement suggestions and follow company policies
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
- 2Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing environment
- 3Strong knowledge of PLCs Allen Bradley and Siemens
- 4Knowledge of robotics ABB and Fanuc preferred
- 5Experience with HMI programming RS Logic Suite FTView and Siemens Programming Suite
- 6Understanding of networks Ethernet/IP DH+ RIO DeviceNet ControlNet and RS232
- 7Ability to interpret and design electrical schematics
- 8Certifications such as CPC Card BCBA AWS Certified
- 95+ years of experience with Spark and Airflow for ETL pipelines
- 10Physical stamina to work occasionally on production floor with moving mechanical parts
