Senior Industrial Automation Program Manager - GM
Overview
We seek a Senior Industrial Automation Program Manager to lead full lifecycle deployment of advanced automation technologies at GM’s Autonomous Robotics Center. This role drives operational speed accuracy and cost efficiency across manufacturing and warehousing environments through strategic project execution and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead full project management for ASRS robotics and integrated automation system deployments
- 2Own financial tracking including purchase orders invoicing and budget management
- 3Develop Statements of Work and Requests for Quotation while engaging vendors creatively
- 4Integrate automation systems with WMS IT and business teams for successful launches
- 5Facilitate workshops and provide updates to senior leadership
- 6Create training programs manuals and standardized work instructions for new processes
- 7Redesign work areas to improve ergonomics reduce repetitive motion and enhance efficiency
- 8Identify deviations from manufacturing standards and recommend corrective actions
- 9Support installation and commissioning activities at deployment sites
Requirements10
- 1Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end automation project deployments across industrial environments
- 2Experience deploying ASRS robotics conveyance systems AMRs AGVs or similar material handling solutions
- 3Proficiency in developing Statements of Work RFQs and managing vendor relationships
- 4Strong understanding of manufacturing warehouse systems integration with WMS IT controls
- 5Ability to design evaluate and optimize workstations facility layouts using engineering tools
- 6Experience managing project budgets cost tracking and capital expenditure activities
- 7Willingness to travel domestically during project deployment installation and launch
- 8Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Supply Chain Engineering Automation Engineering or related field
- 95+ years leading automation robotics industrial systems deployments from concept through launch
- 10Familiarity with digital twin modeling simulation or virtual commissioning practices
