Robotic & PLC Programmer
Overview
Design and program PLC and robotic systems for industrial automation. Lead production teams to improve throughput and reduce costs. Ensure safety compliance and maintain documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop and program PLC systems using Allen-Bradley Siemens Omron or equivalent platforms
- 2Program and maintain industrial robots such as Fanuc ABB KUKA Yaskawa/Motoman Panasonic
- 3Create and modify HMI/SCADA interfaces for operator interaction
- 4Diagnose automation electrical and communication issues to minimize downtime
- 5Integrate robots with PLCs vision systems and safety devices
- 6Implement safety systems like light curtains safety PLCs and interlocks
- 7Maintain electrical schematics I/O lists and program backups
- 8Support continuous improvement projects focused on quality cost and productivity
- 9Provide technical training to operators and maintenance staff
- 10Follow ISO 9001 quality management standards when required
- 11Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering goals
Requirements11
- 1Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Automation Mechatronics or related field
- 23+ years of PLC and robotic programming experience in manufacturing
- 3Strong knowledge of ladder logic structured text and function block programming
- 4Hands-on experience with Ethernet/IP Device Net and Modbus networks
- 5Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- 6Experience troubleshooting sensors VFDs servos and motion control systems
- 7Familiarity with CAD software AutoCAD for basic tooling creation
- 8Knowledge of industrial safety standards OSHA NFPA 70E ISO 13849
- 9Experience with vision systems Cognex Keyence
- 10Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
- 11Project management or system integration experience preferred
