Overview
You will lead roadway design and delivery for ODOT, City of Columbus, and local municipal projects across Central Ohio. As a Professional Engineer (PE), you will own design from concept through construction, working on AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer. You will join a collaborative transportation team with 5-10 years of experience, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients. What You'll Do9
- 1Design 5-10 years of roadway widening, reconstruction, and realignment projects for ODOT and local agencies.
- 2Develop intersection improvement plans and roundabout designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
- 3Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses with HEC-RAS and HydroCAD to design drainage systems.
- 4Coordinate utility conflicts and design relocations for water, sanitary sewer, and highway lighting systems.
- 5Prepare MOT plans and traffic control plans for construction projects.
- 6Produce quantity calculations and engineer's cost estimates for project bids.
- 7Conduct constructability reviews and ensure quality assurance and control (QA/QC) on deliverables.
- 8Mentor junior engineering staff and support their technical development in roadway design.
- 9Coordinate directly with clients, including ODOT, City of Columbus, and county engineers, to align project goals.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
- 2Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio.
- 35-10 years of roadway and transportation engineering experience.
- 4Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer for roadway design.
- 5Proficiency in drainage analysis with HEC-RAS or HydroCAD.
- 6Strong knowledge of roadway geometric design, drainage, and stormwater systems.
- 7Experience with utility coordination and MOT development.
- 8Excellent communication skills for client presentations and team collaboration.
