What You'll Do9

  • 1Design, plan, and inspect components of roadway engineering projects using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
  • 2Prepare conceptual and detailed plans, specifications, and estimates for public works construction projects.
  • 3Coordinate and review project phases, including engineering reports, calculations, and special provisions, against public works standards.
  • 4Run technical engineering analysis on proposed designs, evaluate changes, and make recommendations.
  • 5Develop drafting plans and technical drawings, and perform computing work as required.
  • 6Participate in developing project design concepts and criteria for transportation and utilities.
  • 7Maintain project files and document design decisions and project management actions.
  • 8Write analytical reports and generate technical estimates for scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • 9Review project deliverables and ensure they meet State DOT standards and permitting requirements.

Requirements10

  • 14+ years of professional civil engineering work experience.
  • 2Experience using MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer.
  • 3Experience designing roadway-related projects for transportation or public infrastructure.
  • 4Strong experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
  • 5Working knowledge of State DOT standards, including roadway design manuals, specifications, and permitting.
  • 6Knowledge of roadway geometric design principles, including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, intersections, and ADA compliance.
  • 7Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery.
  • 8Strong understanding of engineering documentation and quality control procedures.
  • 9Experience preparing construction documents and cost estimates for transportation projects.
  • 10Additional skills: GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other transportation design software.
