What You'll Do11
- 1Support patient assessment using pulmonary diagnostics and blood gas analysis
- 2Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care settings
- 3Provide medication treatments per physician orders and patient-driven protocols
- 4Clean and maintain medical equipment ensuring proper functionality
- 5Educate patients on therapy techniques and disease management
- 6Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
- 7Report patient safety events and near misses promptly
- 8Train and mentor new respiratory therapists and students
- 9Adapt to various service areas while maintaining performance standards
- 10Perform bedside procedures and assist with clinical problem solving
- 11Maintain accurate patient handoffs and promote safety protocols
Requirements5
- 1Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by state
- 2Active RRT credential from NBRC within 12 months
- 3Current BLS certification from AHA
- 4Associate degree from accredited respiratory care program
- 5Effective communication and interpersonal skills
