Residential Counselor I/II, Mental Health Support & Group Therapy
Overview
This role owns direct service care within a multi-disciplinary team to support adults with mental illness on their recovery journey. You will facilitate individual and group therapy, coordinate clinical care, manage intakes and discharges, and maintain a safe, trauma‑informed housing environment for residents. You will collaborate with case management and community services to ensure continuity of care and timely interventions. This position offers flexible shifts in the Greater Denver area, with opportunities to grow into higher responsibilities.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and deliver individual psychotherapy to residents to provide support and insight
- 2Design and lead group therapy sessions within the residential setting
- 3Coordinate clinical care with case management and external services
- 4Assess residents throughout the day and implement timely interventions
- 5Support ADLs and life skills like hygiene, cooking, cleaning, and scheduling appointments
- 6Complete intake and discharge tasks for new admissions and residents moving out
- 7Maintain household safety and manage routine chores and safety protocols
- 8Document significant interactions in the daily log and consumer records
- 9Respond to emergencies and coordinate with staff and clinicians when needed
- 10Advocate for community integration and maintain a trauma‑informed environment
Requirements10
- 1Pursuing or holding a Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field for RC I or RC II
- 2RC II requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 3One year of mental health or related experience preferred
- 4QMAP certification, CPR & First Aid training preferred
- 5Ability to meet physical requirements including sitting, standing, lifting, climbing stairs, and moving within the house
- 6Shift and weekend availability required
- 7Class "S" driver’s license may be required for certain programs
- 8Demonstrated ability to work within a trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented framework
- 9Strong collaboration skills with a multi‑disciplinary team
