Residential Coordinator, OPWDD Program & Onsite Support
Overview
Own and supervise residential operations across Manhattan, Queens, and Long Island supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Lead staff, ensure safety and compliance, and foster a therapeutic environment that promotes independence at scale. Work with a multi-location team and travel between sites to coordinate care and activities. This role offers growth within a mission-driven nonprofit that serves autism services in NYC and Long Island.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and oversee compliance across all Residential programs including safety, welfare, and medical coordination
- 2Lead scheduling, staff supervision, and delegation to Residence Managers and Shift Supervisors to ensure consistent operations
- 3Drive maintenance, supply management, and budgeting tasks including petty cash and personal banking oversight
- 4Coordinate medical appointments with Nurse and Medical Coordinator and maintain medical records
- 5Organize recreation, activities, and nutritionally balanced meals for individuals
- 6Communicate concerns with client families and maintain confidentiality
- 7Report maintenance issues to the Director of Administration and uphold company values
- 8Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and senior management
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's Degree and substantial related experience required
- 21-2 years’ experience supporting people with intellectual or developmental disabilities required
- 31 year of OPWDD experience highly preferred
- 4Minimum 1 year supervisory work experience required
- 5Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required for site visits
- 61-2 years’ experience driving large passenger vehicle
- 7Clearance through state mandated background/fingerprint checks
- 8Ability to communicate effectively with others and individuals served
- 9Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights and items up to 20 lb
- 10Ability to respond to needs across multiple sites and locations while maintaining professional boundaries
