Overview

Residential Assistant Manager will oversee QSAC Residences in the West Region maintaining a safe supportive environment that fosters growth and independence for people receiving services. You will supervise DSP staff, coordinate community and residential activities, and ensure compliance with medical and safety procedures. This role operates onsite in Queens NY with direct collaboration with nurses and medical coordinators within an autism-focused nonprofit.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead and supervise direct care staff to deliver person centered services in residential settings and community outings
  • 2Review and maintain residential binders, medication records, and individual allowances to ensure accuracy
  • 3Coordinate household items, groceries, and meal planning based on individual preferences
  • 4Plan and execute recreational calendars aligned with residents’ interests
  • 5Conduct safety drills, injury reporting, and ensure compliance with safety procedures
  • 6Supervise staff scheduling to ensure program goals are met and staff ratios maintained
  • 7Liaise with Nurse and Medical Coordinators to coordinate medical appointments
  • 8Maintain safe driving operations for staff transporting individuals in large passenger vehicles
  • 9Monitor and report on staff performance and address disciplinary concerns as needed
  • 10Ensure adherence to privacy, dignity and rights of individuals served

Requirements10

  • 1High school diploma or GED
  • 21-2 years driving large passenger vehicles
  • 31-2 years experience supporting people with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • 4Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
  • 5Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • 6Ability to assist lifting individuals and items up to 20 lb
  • 7Patience and willingness to learn systematic procedures
  • 8Ability to work onsite in Queens NY
  • 9Commitment to person-centered services in autism support
  • 10Flexible and collaborative approach to team-based care
