Own the remittance and reimbursement workflow at a healthcare revenue cycle team in a fully onsite Mount Laurel, NJ environment. You will post payments, reconcile deposits, and resolve unapplied cash while ensuring accurate application of insurance and patient payments. Collaborate with billing, payer portals, and internal stakeholders to maintain clean ledgers and timely refunds. This role emphasizes high attention to detail, compliance with HIPAA, and effective communication across departments.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and maintain accurate posting of electronic and paper payments, denials, and patient correspondence from insurance carriers
  • 2Design and implement resolution of unapplied cash and unidentified payments
  • 3Drive investigation of underpayments and overpayments by insurers and patients
  • 4Audit and reconcile bank deposits and payment batches to ensure batch totals match
  • 5Process patient refunds and document timely submission and rationale
  • 6Review EOBs and remittance advice to verify payment accuracy and generate appropriate adjustments
  • 7Process credit card transactions and maintain precise payment records
  • 8Maintain up-to-date patient account information including demographics and insurance data
  • 9Communicate reimbursement concerns and workflow trends to management for process improvements
  • 10Provide exceptional customer service to patients, insurers, and internal teams

Requirements11

  • 1Minimum of 3 years in medical billing, insurance verification, reimbursement, cash posting, or healthcare revenue cycle operations
  • 2Experience processing insurance and patient payments in a healthcare setting
  • 3Strong understanding of EOBs, remittance advice, and insurance reimbursement processes
  • 4Experience with payment reconciliation, credit balances, and refund processing
  • 5Knowledge of medical claims processing and insurance terminology
  • 6Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • 7Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • 8Ability to manage high-volume workloads with accuracy
  • 9Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 10Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 11Onsite position in Mount Laurel, NJ
