Registered Nurse (RN) - Long-Term Care & Skilled Nursing
Overview
You will own resident care across assigned shifts, directing LPNs, CNAs, and medication aides while coordinating care plans for 30-60 residents in a skilled nursing facility. You report to the Director of Nursing and collaborate with a team of 10-15 clinical staff per shift. What You'll Do9
- 1Supervise LPNs, medication aides, CNAs, and other staff delivering direct care, assigning tasks based on resident acuity.
- 2Plan and assign work for each shift, adjusting assignments to match staffing levels and resident safety needs.
- 3Prepare work schedules, receive staffing calls, and arrange replacement coverage to maintain mandated ratios.
- 4Transfer employees between units to balance workload and respond to changing census.
- 5Conduct performance evaluations for assigned staff, providing input on hiring, discipline, and termination.
- 6Resolve staff concerns and adjust break schedules to ensure continuous coverage.
- 7Oversee unit operations in the absence of higher-level management, using independent judgment within policy.
- 8Implement and evaluate resident care plans, updating them as conditions change.
- 9Serve as the on-shift resource for families and staff, answering questions and escalating issues.
Requirements6
- 11-2 years nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute care preferred.
- 2Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- 3CPR certification upon hire or within 90 days of employment.
- 4Supervisory experience with LPNs and CNAs preferred.
- 5Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
- 6Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
