Registered Nurse (RN) - Long-Term Care
Overview
You own resident care delivery and supervision across assigned shifts at a skilled nursing facility in Detroit, Michigan. You coordinate LPNs, CNAs, and STNAs, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. You also manage staffing, evaluate performance, and step up when higher management is absent. This role includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus, tuition reimbursement, and student loan reimbursement.
What You'll Do8
- 1Supervise LPNs, Medication Aides, CNAs/STNAs, and other direct care staff to ensure safe and compliant care.
- 2Plan, assign, and direct work based on resident needs and staff capabilities, adjusting priorities as conditions change.
- 3Prepare work assignments and adjust staffing levels to maintain resident safety and coverage.
- 4Handle staffing calls and arrange replacements to fill gaps during shifts.
- 5Transfer employees between units to match staffing demands and resident acuity.
- 6Complete performance evaluations and provide input on hiring, discipline, and termination.
- 7Adjust break schedules and resolve staff concerns to maintain a productive team.
- 8Oversee unit operations during the absence of higher-level management, using independent judgment per company policies and laws.
Requirements7
- 11-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute care preferred.
- 2Current state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- 3Current CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- 4Ability to supervise and direct licensed and unlicensed staff.
- 5Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
- 6Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
- 7Effective communication and problem-solving abilities for resident and staff interactions.
