What You'll Do8
- 1Supervise LPNs, Medication Aides, CNAs, and other care staff during your shift, assigning tasks based on resident needs and staff skills.
- 2Create and adjust staffing schedules to maintain coverage and resident safety, handling replacement calls and unit transfers.
- 3Lead shift operations, resolving staff concerns and coordinating breaks to maintain continuous care.
- 4Evaluate staff performance and provide input on hiring and disciplinary actions to build a strong care team.
- 5Develop and update resident care plans, assessing needs and ensuring all care aligns with federal and state regulations.
- 6Act as clinical resource for residents, families, and staff, answering questions and guiding care decisions.
- 7Oversee unit operations when higher management is absent, ensuring smooth workflow and quality standards.
- 8Administer medications and treatments as needed, following facility protocols and safety guidelines.
Requirements7
- 11-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute care preferred.
- 2Current state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- 3Current CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- 4Ability to supervise and lead a care team, making critical decisions under pressure.
- 5Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
- 6Strong communication skills to interact with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- 7Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
