Registered Nurse (RN) - Skilled Nursing & Subacute Care
Overview
You will own resident care delivery across assigned shifts, guiding a team of LPNs, CNAs, and medication aides to maintain quality and safety. As part of a skilled nursing and subacute care facility, you will assess, plan, and evaluate care plans while coordinating unit operations. This role combines direct clinical judgment with staff supervision, making you the key resource for residents, families, and your team. You will shape outcomes from day one, ensuring regulatory compliance and high standards of care.
What You'll Do8
- 1Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and medication aides, directing daily care tasks to meet resident needs.
- 2Plan and assign staff work, adjusting assignments based on acuity and shift coverage.
- 3Respond to staffing calls and arrange replacements to maintain safe ratios.
- 4Transfer employees between units to match workload and skill mix.
- 5Complete performance evaluations and provide input on hiring, discipline, or termination.
- 6Adjust break schedules and resolve staff concerns to sustain team morale.
- 7Oversee unit operations during higher-level management absence.
- 8Apply independent judgment to enforce policies and follow applicable laws.
Requirements3
- 11-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute care preferred.
- 2Current state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- 3Current CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
