What You'll Do14

  • 1Lead regional special education systems with primary focus on high school practices
  • 2Collaborate with site and district leaders to implement a continuum of services aligned with IDEA and state statutes
  • 3Participate in regional leadership teams to promote cross department alignment and problem solving
  • 4Coordinate high school caseloads, student schedules, and service models for efficient delivery
  • 5Provide coaching and job embedded support on instructional strategies and IEP implementation
  • 6Monitor adherence to IEP timelines content accuracy progress reports METs and transfer paperwork
  • 7Support site teams in state and district monitoring or audits
  • 8Oversee accurate student counts for staffing allocations and reporting
  • 9Facilitate transition planning between junior high and high school for smooth hand offs
  • 10Serve as District Representative at IEP meetings ensuring legal and procedural fidelity
  • 11Coordinate professional development and supervise instructional assistants and clerical staff
  • 12Collaborate with assessment teams on testing accommodations and data informed decisions
  • 13Provide PreK–8 consultative support ensuring consistent district procedures and early intervention systems
  • 14Attend district and site meetings and contribute to Mesa Public Schools goals

Requirements3

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in education special education or a related field
  • 2Valid Arizona Department of Education teaching certificate and SEI endorsement or related certificate
  • 3Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching or related experience
