Recruitment Specialist, MCRO Elections & Poll Worker Hiring
Overview
Own the end-to-end recruitment process for poll workers and temporary staff for each election cycle at Maricopa County Recorder’s Office. Manage engagements with hiring managers to develop a strategic plan and ensure timely onboarding of candidates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote the office as an Employer of Choice and deliver high-volume recruitment outcomes. This role blends process improvement with hands-on hiring, data collection, and stakeholder communication to support elections operations.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and implement a strategic recruitment plan for election cycle staffing, targeting 200-1000 poll workers
- 2Promote the office as an Employer of Choice through job postings, events, and outreach
- 3Assist with onboarding and ensure accurate HR system submission for temporary hires
- 4Review applications, conduct interviews, and create recruitment files for temporary staff
- 5Utilize HR software to generate forms, queries, and requisitions for temporary recruitments
- 6Assist in developing streamlined recruitment processes and data collection to evaluate programs
- 7Support payroll input for poll workers including training, set-up, and premium payments
- 8Schedule trainings for temporary employees and poll workers each election cycle
- 9Prepare complex correspondence to poll workers and temporary staff
- 10Maintain and update poll worker records in the Boardworker System
Requirements5
- 1One (1) year of specialized administrative experience
- 2Associate’s degree or equivalent substitution of three (3) years of specialized administrative experience
- 3Valid Arizona driver`s license by time of hire
- 4Ability to obtain Secretary of State Election Officer Certification
- 5Pass an applicable background screening and, if required, drug and alcohol testing for safety-sensitive positions
