Quality Inspector 2nd Shift - Aerospace & Defense
Overview
You will own final and in-process inspection for BRINC drones, ensuring every unit meets the rigorous standards that public safety agencies rely on. You will partner with Quality, Test, and Design Engineering teams to identify critical-to-quality characteristics and drive corrective actions. Working on 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM), you will transition to day shift within 4-6 months. This role empowers you to stop defects at the source and improve processes across PCBAs, optics, and mechanical assemblies.
What You'll Do7
- 1Use metrology equipment to verify PCBAs, optics, harnessing, soldering, mechanical fastening, and adhesives.
- 2Report non-conformances and contain suspect material to prevent defective products from shipping.
- 3Read and interpret work instructions and engineering drawings to define and perform quality inspections.
- 4Perform critical in-process and final inspections for assembled products and subassemblies, including optics, PCBAs, precision machined components, and composite components.
- 5Develop SOPs for inspectors and technicians to standardize daily inspection tasks.
- 6Support Material Review Board discussions to determine product dispositions for nonconforming material.
- 7Partner with manufacturing technicians to implement sustainable corrective actions when defects are root caused.
Requirements6
- 12+ years as a technician in the aerospace, defense, or medical industry.
- 22+ years reading and interpreting work instructions, engineering drawings, and inspection plans.
- 32+ years using hand tools.
- 42+ years using calibrated tools: height gauges, calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches.
- 52+ years with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- 6Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
