QC FAB Inspector, PPAP & GD&T Experience Required
Overview
Quality Assurance role focused on inspecting fabricated parts and ensuring compliance with customer requirements at scale in a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with suppliers, customers, fabrication, and packaging teams to resolve quality issues. This role emphasizes attention to detail, problem solving, and cross-functional teamwork. You will use standard quality tools and PPAP guidance to support internal and external validation.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and verify incoming hardware conformity through measurement and counting with calipers and micrometers to meet customer specs
- 2Design and maintain quality document filing systems and retrieve alerts and certifications for audits
- 3Support PPAP submissions per customer requirements and AIAG 4th edition guidelines
- 4Ship and inspect FAIRs, DIP, TDP, and visual distribution inspections to ensure items meet quality standards
- 5Escalate unresolved defects to the Quality Manager and coordinate with NPI team for root cause and corrective actions
- 6Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality notices and discrepancies
- 7Verify material certifications against requirements and update supplier information in systems
- 8Assist with processing RMA requests and customer/vendor discrepancies in relevant systems
- 9Maintain proficiency with inspection tools and equipment and uphold quality management system procedures
- 10Perform occasional validation reports and control plan reviews to ensure continued process capability
Requirements5
- 1High school graduate or equivalent with 2 years of related experience preferred
- 2PPAP, blueprint reading and GD&T fundamentals are required
- 3Calibrated gauge use including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, pi tapes and comparators like Virtek and Keyence Video Microscope
- 4Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced PDF software
- 5Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and endure production environment conditions
