Overview
Utility Project Manager leading complex overhead and underground electrical infrastructure projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role owns project execution cost control scheduling safety quality subcontractor coordination and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings proven experience managing utility or electrical construction projects and collaborates with executive leadership estimating teams field supervision and clients.
What You'll Do14
- 1Lead and manage multiple Traffic Signal Street Light and Fiber construction projects simultaneously from design through final closeout
- 2Develop and manage project budgets schedules staffing plans and execution strategies
- 3Oversee quantity takeoffs estimates change orders subcontractor scopes supplier pricing and contract administration
- 4Review and approve bills of materials specifications drawings and project documentation
- 5Coordinate permitting submittals proposals and contract negotiations
- 6Provide leadership and direction to field supervisors and subcontractors
- 7Specialty focus on Traffic Signals and Street Lights ensuring compliance with specifications company standards safety requirements and quality control procedures
- 8Monitor project performance and proactively identify risks schedule impacts and cost variances
- 9Lead project meetings with clients inspectors engineers and internal stakeholders
- 10Ensure timely and professional communication with clients and deliver proactive solutions to project challenges
- 11Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all assigned projects
- 12Protect company interests by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive business and project information
- 13Support continuous improvement efforts and mentor junior project management staff
- 14Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in construction management Electrical Engineering Architecture or related field preferred
- 25+ years of project management experience in Traffic Signal Street Light and/or Fiber construction projects
- 3Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods contract administration and project controls
- 4Proven experience managing project budgets schedules and subcontractor performance
- 5Traffic Signal Street Light and/or Fiber construction experience strongly preferred
- 6Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Bluebeam experience preferred
- 7OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training preferred or ability to obtain
- 8Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills
- 9Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving abilities
- 10Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
- 11Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required
