The Project Executive leads construction projects from pre-construction to closeout. What You'll Do36
- 1Provide leadership in business judgment and all financial and profitability aspects of projects under your jurisdiction
- 2Participate in and the work acquisition process defining and developing project budgets and schedules achieving profitability objectives
- 3Set appropriate milestones and assign staff qualified to handle the scope and complexity of the project
- 4Work closely with clients owners architects and subcontractors to develop relationships exceeding Suffolk’s demanding standards
- 5Oversee projects from start-up through closeout ensuring owner expectations regarding budget schedule and quality are met or exceeded
- 6Ensure day-to-day operations transition effectively to project managers and superintendents during field commencement
- 7Mentor train and coach staff to perform to or exceed Suffolk standards
- 8Represent Suffolk to owners architects consultants government authorities vendors and subcontractors
- 9Participate in project acquisition understanding unique owner needs representing Suffolk capabilities and helping close potential client leads
- 10Review projects for unique challenges impacting budget profitability utilizing Litmus Test
- 11Utilize industry contacts and relationships to generate appropriate project leads and follow through as required
- 12Participate in contract negotiation as requested
- 13Assign appropriate project staff including project management and field ops staff during project start up
- 14Review and approve pre-mobilization activities
- 15Ensure turnover meeting occurs between preconstruction and operation teams acting as pre-construction lead working with estimating teams to develop budgets schedules and logistics plans
- 16Maintain thorough understanding of Suffolk/owner contract ensuring team comprehension and compliance
- 17Monitor project performance visits sites regularly highlighting challenges and providing leadership to keep projects on schedule and under budget
- 18Monitor and evaluate project manager and superintendent staff assignments
- 19Assist in sourcing and screening candidates mentoring coaching training them to perform and ensure effective matching of talent to project scope
- 20Manage cash management accounts receivable accurate financial forecasting pnl including contingencies liabilities and savings potential
- 21Assist in development of baseline schedule monitor schedule performance initiate lean planning processes ensure staff understanding and training in sops and monitor compliance
- 22Champion jobsite safety effort motivating team implementation of safety program
- 23Ensure original project budget includes appropriate funding
- 24Attend all scheduled meetings necessary to monitor and manage project profitability chair weekly project staff meetings
- 25Attend owner and project meetings maintain continuous client contact to gauge performance perceptions and communicate relevant information
- 26Become the sullivan representative on the team
- 27Self-perform experience a plus
