What You'll Do9

  • 1Lead conference calls with suppliers and internal teams to resolve critical supply issues and manage business transfers.
  • 2Serve as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics to provide technical support and align on resolutions.
  • 3Diagnose root causes of supplier delivery failures and coordinate implementation of effective, timely fixes.
  • 4Guide suppliers through corrective action plans, ensuring process improvements and lead time reductions are realized.
  • 5Improve supplier delivery performance by identifying and eliminating process bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • 6Partner with Supplier Risk Management to address financially troubled suppliers and mitigate supply disruptions.
  • 7Drive proactive and predictive supply chain strategies, scoping and executing projects that build resilience.
  • 8Standardize work practices across the team to ensure consistent issue resolution and knowledge sharing.
  • 9Escalate urgent issues to management with clear, concise updates and prepare executive-level reports as required.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years post-graduate experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, or logistics.
  • 2Willingness to travel 75% domestically and internationally, often with short notice, and hold a valid passport.
  • 35+ years in automotive manufacturing operations, with deep understanding of die casting or machining processes.
  • 43+ years of hands-on experience in die casting or machining operations.
  • 5Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, including material handling, inventory management, OEE, capacity, and throughput.
  • 6Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to build relationships and solve problems across teams and suppliers.
  • 7Demonstrated track record of managing multiple complex cases with high autonomy and accountability.
  • 8Ability to prepare and present technical information to diverse audiences, from shop floor to executive leadership.
