Overview

The Project Engineer – Infrastructure leads complex multidisciplinary infrastructure projects by coordinating engineering activities and aligning mechanical structural electrical and control systems. This role partners with engineering project management procurement and internal external stakeholders to maintain scope quality and timelines during commissioning and start-up of engineered fixed equipment in an industrial machinery environment.

What You'll Do17

  • 1Coordinate engineering input to support development maintenance and optimization of project schedules
  • 2Collaborate with department leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment effective planning and consistent execution across all project phases
  • 3Work closely with engineering department and project managers to ensure adherence to schedules including engineering activities that support procurement and timely release of deliverables
  • 4Monitor track and coordinate schedule updates and submittals ensuring accurate and timely communication of changes
  • 5Liaise with internal and external clients and project leaders to determine applicable design codes and establish overall design criteria for each project
  • 6Ensure all engineering work complies with approved manuals procedures and relevant standards
  • 7Maintain integrity of engineering scope and project intent by interpreting scope documents identifying budget deviations and assessing potential change orders
  • 8Coordinate cost and schedule impacts of scope changes with project leaders and stakeholders ensuring transparency and alignment
  • 9Implement approved project changes and clearly communicate associated schedule and cost impacts to appropriate managers
  • 10Verify adherence to project quality processes and standards supporting continuous improvement in engineering practices
  • 11Conduct recurring design coordination meetings with project teams to promote cross-departmental collaboration and resolve design interfaces
  • 12Coordinate with Project Management and Procurement to establish and maintain proper document distribution for internal and external stakeholders
  • 13Manage engineering field support through the RFI system ensuring timely and accurate responses to field inquiries
  • 14Review and provide engineering input for weekly and monthly project status reports including costs schedule performance and potential changes
  • 15Participate in project review meetings to report on engineering progress risks and opportunities
  • 16Support commissioning and start-up activities for engineered fixed equipment ensuring documentation and standards are met
  • 17Perform other engineering and project-related responsibilities as required or assigned to support successful project delivery

Requirements26

  • 1Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferably in Mechanical Electrical or Structural Engineering
  • 2At least 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary projects that include mechanical structural electrical and control systems
  • 3Experience working with engineered fixed equipment within the industrial machinery space
  • 4Proven experience in project management including coordination of engineering activities against project schedules
  • 5Experience supporting procurement activities by ensuring engineering deliverables are released on time
  • 6Experience with commissioning and start-up standards and documentation for industrial systems
  • 7Strong background in project documentation including schedule updates status reporting and change management
  • 8Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering project management procurement and external stakeholders
  • 9Proficiency with SolidWorks for mechanical and system design
  • 10Experience with manufacturing engineering in industrial environments including sheet metal machining and fabrication
  • 11Knowledge of mechanical systems electrical systems and control systems within industrial applications
  • 12Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner
  • 13Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to identify scope deviations and assess cost and schedule impacts
  • 14Ability to verify and enforce adherence to project quality processes and engineering standards
  • 15Experience with material handling systems
  • 16Experience with abrasive blasting or corrosion-control equipment
  • 17Experience with industrial fixed equipment beyond core responsibilities
  • 18Knowledge of HVAC systems and their integration within industrial environments
  • 19Experience with commissioning activities in complex mechanical or industrial systems
  • 20Familiarity with CFD and FEA tools and methods
  • 21Experience using Revit for coordination and design in multidisciplinary projects
  • 22Professional Engineer PE license
  • 23Project Management Professional PMP certification
  • 24Experience in process development and continuous improvement within an industrial or manufacturing context
  • 25Experience conducting root cause analysis to resolve technical and operational issues
  • 26Strong communication skills for leading design coordination meetings and presenting in project review sessions
