Project Engineer I - Sustainability
Overview
Lead technical and administrative support for the BuildLACCD Sustainability Team across sustainability capital improvement projects. Work under the Sustainability Strike Team Lead to coordinate initiatives such as Energy Information Systems, Building Management Systems, and renewable energy installations. This role drives project execution and ensures compliance with district standards.
What You'll Do12
- 1Provide technical and engineering support to project managers and sustainability team throughout all project phases
- 2Support implementation of energy efficiency electrification and renewable energy strategies
- 3Coordinate with contractors and architects to resolve technical issues and RFIs
- 4Maintain and distribute current contract plans and specifications
- 5Confirm contractor maintenance of record drawings before monthly progress payments
- 6Conduct field checks to verify compliance with job specifications and DSA requirements
- 7Document progress through photographs and daily project reports
- 8Assist in preparing written materials including correspondence and guidelines
- 9Track status of change orders and approve modifications
- 10Manage project files and record drawings
- 11Review submittals for conformance to plans and specifications
- 12Coordinate meeting minutes with project stakeholders
Requirements5
- 1BS/BA Degree in Engineering Architecture Business Construction Management or related field
- 2Minimum of 3 years experience in project or construction management of commercial public or educational facilities exceeding $15M
- 3Experience with Building Information Modeling preferred
- 4Familiarity with Division of the State Architect construction/design process preferred
