Construction Project Manager - Residential Retrofits | SoCal EBD
Overview
You will lead residential retrofit projects for the Southern California Equitable Building Decarbonization (SoCal EBD) program, a direct install initiative by the California Energy Commission and Los Angeles County. You will manage contractors, ensure code compliance, and drive quality from planning through completion. With a focus on underserved communities, you will build trust through transparent communication. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead residential retrofit projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- 2Manage contractor relationships, enforcing accountability, quality, and adherence to scopes.
- 3Coordinate scopes of work with participants, preparing and finalizing each project's details.
- 4Review and interpret residential building codes to ensure all work meets regulatory standards.
- 5Conduct site visits, inspections, and progress evaluations to maintain quality.
- 6Drive QA/QC processes with installers, managing installation quality.
- 7Communicate consistently with homeowners, contractors, and internal teams.
- 8Coordinate incentive layering, follow-up surveys, and continuous improvement practices.
- 9Identify and resolve project issues and risks proactively.
- 10Document project progress and report accurately.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of professional experience in Construction Management, Residential Retrofits, Energy Efficiency Upgrades, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or related field.
- 2Bachelor's degree, or substitute one year of related experience for one year of education.
- 3Valid driver's license and successful MVR check.
- 4Bilingual or multilingual proficiency preferred.
- 5Contractor State License Board (CSLB) License preferred.
- 6Certification with BPI, LEED, USGBC, or other energy efficiency and building science organizations preferred.
- 7Familiarity with energy efficiency or sustainability practices in construction preferred.
- 8Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline preferred.
Salary Insight
$89 - $152k per year
