Product Design Engineer - Aero Industries
Overview
Aero Industries seeks a Product Design Engineer to own product development from concept to production. The role involves collaborating with manufacturing and other departments to create innovative solutions. This position requires hands-on involvement in the shop floor environment.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design parts assemblies tooling fixtures and manufacturing systems using Autodesk Inventor
- 2Create detailed engineering drawings Bills of Material and Bills of Operations
- 3Develop prototypes and validate designs through testing and first article inspections
- 4Work directly on the manufacturing floor to install troubleshoot and improve products
- 5Lead Engineering Change Orders and support continuous improvement initiatives
- 6Design tooling and fixtures that enhance manufacturability efficiency and quality
- 7Support custom product requests and technical questions from internal teams and customers
- 8Manage multiple engineering projects from concept through production
- 9Collaborate with Manufacturing Purchasing Quality Sales and Operations
- 10Perform basic Finite Element Analysis using Autodesk Inventor
- 11Maintain documentation and coordinate with cross-functional teams
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or related field
- 25-10 years of product design manufacturing engineering or product development experience
- 3Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor
- 4Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
- 5Excellent analytical troubleshooting and project management skills
- 6Hands-on experience with welding machining robotics or sheet metal fabrication
- 7Familiarity with Autodesk Vault or other Product Data Management systems
- 8Experience with aluminum fabrication or truck trailer products
- 9Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- 10Ability to perform basic FEA using Autodesk Inventor
- 11Enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and working on the production floor
