Technical Product Engineer II, New Product Development
Overview
3-5 years of engineering experience in metal framing and cable management. You will own the commercialization of new products through Atkore's Stage Gate Process. Report to the Director of Product Engineering, working with commercial and operational teams to drive strategic initiatives. Use Autodesk Inventor for design and engineering. This role stands out by directly influencing long-term corporate objectives and leading innovation projects. You will be a key player in shaping product strategy and customer solutions.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead engineering efforts for New Product Development projects using Atkore's Stage Gate Process.
- 2Support manufacturing with Value-Added/Value Engineering initiatives to improve quality and simplify SKU rationalization.
- 3Collaborate with Product Engineering and Product Management to drive innovation in metal framing and cable management.
- 4Engage with customers to understand critical project needs and drive successful product commercialization.
- 5Promote the Metal Framing and Cable Management product lines to clients as a product ambassador.
- 6Work with operations teams from MFCM and C&PS to execute on opportunities.
- 7Lead digital advancement projects for internal and external tools, including websites.
- 8Contribute to the strategic plan and direction for the business unit.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 23-5 years of engineering experience, with demonstrated competency in Autodesk Inventor.
- 3Strong communication skills for customer and internal stakeholder interaction.
- 4Experience with metal framing and cable management products is a plus.
- 5Ability to think strategically and develop long-term goals while adapting to market changes.
- 6Self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
