Principal Power Engineering Consultant - Gridsight

Own the technical deployment of Gridsight's AI-powered platform for electric utilities, leading onboarding and delivering consulting that modernizes grid operations. Partner with cross-functional teams to shape product direction and drive customer success. Represent the company as a subject matter expert in the power engineering community. This role blends deep technical expertise with client-facing strategy, offering a direct path to influencing the future of grid analytics.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead end-to-end technical onboarding for utility customers, configuring Gridsight to meet their specific regulatory and operational requirements.
- 2Provide engineering guidance on power distribution systems, ensuring robust and compliant implementations for customer teams adopting Gridsight workflows.
- 3Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and user guides to empower customer teams and maximize platform adoption.
- 4Troubleshoot complex technical issues, coordinating with engineering to resolve escalations and maintain high satisfaction.
- 5Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine features and develop new functionalities aligned with market needs.
- 6Advise customers on data management, analytics, and workflow optimization to drive value.
- 7Represent Gridsight in industry working groups, conferences, and webinars, showcasing solutions and best practices.
- 8Co-present case studies and research findings to elevate Gridsight's profile as a leader in grid flexibility and AI-driven analytics.
- 9Support RFI and RFP responses, applying technical expertise to secure new business.
- 10Monitor platform usage and offer optimization strategies to foster long-term customer relationships.
Requirements10
- 15-10 years of experience in power systems engineering, distribution planning, or related fields within utilities, energy technology, or consulting.
- 2Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- 3Hands-on experience with power system modeling tools such as PowerFactory, CYME, or PSS/E.
- 4Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and SaaS technologies.
- 5Strong expertise in distribution system planning or DER integration.
- 6Experience with system integration, APIs, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for data processing.
- 7Demonstrated success in project management within utilities or energy.
- 8Exceptional communication and presentation skills, interfacing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 9Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- 10Proven problem-solving abilities and a self-starter mentality in a startup environment.
