Senior Manager Grid Integration Engineering
Overview
Senior Manager leads Grid Integration Engineering providing technical and operational leadership across Invenergy’s generation transmission and large-load development portfolio. Reports to Senior Director coordinates engineering activities for grid-code compliance advanced power system studies large-load interconnections and transmission integration. Serves as day-to-day leader of the team and key interface between Development Interconnection Grid Modeling Operations OEMs consultants utilities and system operators.
What You'll Do12
- 1Build grid-code compliance strategies across generation and large-load projects
- 2Coordinate technical activities for IEEE 2800-2022 IEEE P2800.2 NERC reliability standards and ISO/RTO-specific requirements
- 3Review and evaluate dynamic RMS and EMT modeling studies and validation reports
- 4Coordinate with Grid Modeling team to ensure consistency of modeling assumptions methodologies and quality standards
- 5Support OEM model governance model validation and technical issue resolution
- 6Provide technical guidance on interconnection study results and mitigation requirements
- 7Coordinate engineering support for generation and large-load interconnection projects across multiple ISOs RTOs and utilities
- 8Develop and maintain repeatable engineering frameworks requirements and best practices
- 9Support technical reviews of facility studies system impact studies and other interconnection deliverables
- 10Provide day-to-day leadership of Grid Integration Engineering team prioritize workload allocate resources across multiple projects
- 11Develop engineering processes standards and best practices mentor staff and coordinate activities across Development Interconnection Engineering Operations Transmission and Grid Modeling organizations
- 12Prepare technical presentations and executive-level communications
Requirements9
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Strong understanding of power system dynamics interconnection processes and grid-code requirements
- 3Experience reviewing or managing studies using PSS®E PSCAD TSAT PSLF PowerFactory or equivalent tools
- 4Work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
- 5Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering
- 6Exposure to IEEE 2800 -2022 NERC reliability standards and inverter-based resource integration
- 7Proficiency with EMT modeling and model validation
- 8Support large-load or data-center interconnection projects
- 9Familiarity with HVDC FACTS or other advanced transmission technologies
