Principal Electrical Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for MONARCH® with deep expertise in PCB design and medical device safety standards. The candidate will lead the design and development of complex electronic systems for regulated medical devices while ensuring compliance with global safety and EMC requirements.
What You'll Do11
- 1System Architecture Lead electrical system architecture for medical devices
- 2Define power distribution grounding strategy isolation schemes and safety architecture
- 3Ensure compliance with medical electrical safety standards including IEC 60601-1
- 4Develop system-level block diagrams and electrical specifications
- 5Lead design of multi-layer PCBs including high-speed digital analog and mixed-signal circuits
- 6Define PCB layout guidelines for creepage and clearance patient isolation barriers EMI/EMC performance thermal management
- 7Perform electrical hazard analysis support risk management documentation
- 8Provide technical leadership to electrical and PCB teams conduct design reviews and failure analysis
- 9Mentor junior engineers and layout designers
- 10Define best practices for hardware development
- 11Understand medical isolation leakage current limits creepage and clearance EMC mitigation strategies surge and ESD protection safety critical design reviews risk management
Requirements10
- 1Education MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering (BS with strong experience acceptable)
- 2Experience 10+ years in electronics design and understanding the requirements of all phases of product development
- 35+ years in medical device development
