Preschool Teacher Assistant role supporting licensed teachers in a Bronx classroom with ABA and inclusive programs. What You'll Do10

  • 1Build instructional support plans and materials for classroom activities
  • 2Assist with toileting, feeding, and clothing for children as needed
  • 3Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized learning strategies
  • 4Maintain data collection and progress notes reflecting student progress
  • 5Support supervision and safety during activities and trips
  • 6Participate in case conferences and staff meetings to align on goals
  • 7Provide program support/coverage and clerical tasks such as laminating and filing
  • 8Assist with transporting children between buses and building
  • 9Substitute in other classrooms when requested
  • 10Uphold universal precautions and confidentiality standards

Requirements9

  • 1High School Diploma or GED
  • 2NYS Teacher Assistant Certification required as a Level I, II or III
  • 3Six months of related experience preferred
  • 4Attend workshops on Child Abuse Identification, SIDS, and AHT Training (to be completed before start date)
  • 5Good English reading, writing, and speaking skills
  • 6Strong interpersonal communication skills with coworkers, children, and parents
  • 7Ability to maintain confidentiality of children’s records
  • 8Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures
  • 9Eligible for on-site work in Bronx, NY
