Teacher Assistant for Pre-K Classroom
Overview
Assist the Lead Teacher in a Pre-K classroom at a Christian-based daycare, supporting 15-20 children in daily activities and routines. You will help children build early literacy, math, language, social, and emotional skills through hands-on learning, arts and crafts, music, and creative play. Working alongside a nurturing team, you will foster a safe, joyful environment where every child feels valued and encouraged. What You'll Do8
- 1Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines, ensuring smooth transitions and a structured day.
- 2Help children develop early literacy, math, language, social, and emotional skills through targeted activities and interactions.
- 3Assist with hands-on learning activities, arts and crafts, music, movement, and creative play, bringing your own creativity and enthusiasm.
- 4Encourage children to explore, ask questions, and build confidence by providing positive guidance and modeling appropriate social skills.
- 5Support individual children's needs while fostering independence, including helping with snack, meals, bathroom routines, and other daily tasks.
- 6Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment, actively supervising children at all times.
- 7Build positive relationships with children, families, teachers, and staff through clear and warm communication.
- 8Assist with classroom observations, documentation, and activities, and participate in special events, celebrations, and school-wide programs.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2Previous experience with preschool or young children preferred.
- 3Early childhood education experience or coursework is a plus.
- 4CDA, Associate's Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
- 5Must meet applicable New York State early childhood program requirements.
- 6Must successfully complete required background checks and clearances.
- 7CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- 8Strong attendance and reliability are essential.
