Preschool General Education Teacher, 10 Month, Brooklyn & Early Education
Overview
Master's degree in Early Childhood Education with NYS certification leads classroom management for special education preschoolers. You will own development and execution of individualized plans for students at scale within a team of educators. You’ll supervise Teacher Assistants and participate in interdisciplinary teams to support transitions, evaluations, and progress reporting. This role stands out for its focus on holistic development, family collaboration, and ongoing professional growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and implement adaptations to lesson plans for diverse learners and track progress toward short and long term goals
- 2Design and assess IFSP/IEP goals and participate in evaluations and annual reviews to inform instruction
- 3Lead interdisciplinary team meetings and coordinate with staff to ensure consistent services
- 4Supervise and evaluate Teacher Assistants, including hiring, discipline, and performance feedback
- 5Plan and conduct activities in various settings (classroom, gym, library, field trips) to support student development
- 6Document daily attendance, progress, and periodic reports to families and regulatory bodies
- 7Maintain confidentiality and uphold dignity in all student interactions
- 8Contribute to curriculum development and staff training to improve instructional practices
- 9Facilitate transitions and collaboration with families to support student outcomes
- 10Transport assistance and routine care support as needed to ensure smooth school operations
Requirements8
- 1Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- 2New York State Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-2nd Grade) or Bachelor’s Degree with active plan to complete Master’s or Certification
- 35+ years building preschool or early intervention programs with supervision responsibilities
- 4Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality skills
- 5Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm
- 6Proficiency in computer software and data management for reporting
- 7Experience with IFSP/IEP processes and educational assessments
