Education Director, Early Childhood Education & Leadership
Overview
Bachelor’s degree required with 3+ years in early childhood education teaching and leadership roles. Manage a preschool serving 120+ children aged 2 to 5, partnering with the Managing Director to drive program success and ensure compliance and quality. Lead emergent curriculum, staff development, and family engagement within a vibrant, inclusive community. This role blends direct program oversight with strategic planning and relationship building with families and licensing bodies. You’ll shape the culture, mentor staff, and scale impact across year‑round and seasonal programs.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead and oversee year‑round programs serving ~120 children across pre‑K, extended day, and summer camp
- 2Develop and implement an emergent curriculum aligned to student and family needs with staff collaboration and continuous improvement
- 3Support preschool mission and vision while promoting an inclusive, welcoming environment for children and families
- 4Hire, train, and mentor staff; supervise through regular meetings, observations, and professional development
- 5Provide guidance to staff and families to meet individual learning needs and ensure high quality instruction
- 6Ensure licensing compliance including staff qualifications, teacher/child ratios, and health and safety requirements
- 7Establish meaningful relationships with families and maintain effective oral and written communication
- 8Maintain systems to track program success and document developmental progress in child assessments
- 9Monitor program quality and operational efficiency to drive outcomes within budget and timelines
- 10Foster transparent communication with parents and address concerns with care and professionalism
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
- 2Three years early childhood education teaching experience required
- 3Two years of leadership experience in an early childhood setting preferred
- 4New York State Teacher Certification Birth-Grade 2 or equivalent required
- 5Proven ability to lead professional development and support educators in a teaching and learning environment
