Practice Assistant I, Administrative & Clinical Support
Overview
You will own front-office operations for a clinical service or physician practice at Mass General Brigham, handling scheduling, check-in, and patient flow. You'll work onsite in Boston, supporting a team of healthcare professionals in a hospital setting. This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare administration with a clear path for growth.
What You'll Do9
- 1Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate appointment records.
- 2Greet patients, check them in and out, and assist with routine inquiries.
- 3Answer telephones, take messages, and route calls to appropriate staff.
- 4Process patient billing forms and scan documents into the medical record system (LMR).
- 5File materials in patient folders and print daily appointment schedules.
- 6Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
- 7Open and distribute mail and faxes, and type forms, records, and schedules.
- 8Collect co-payments and verify registration accuracy.
- 9Monitor the waiting room and provide information to patients as needed.
Requirements7
- 1High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- 20-1 years of healthcare office experience required.
- 3Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- 4Knowledge of office operations including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
- 5Ability to use a phone system and manage non-routine calls.
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 7Well organized with effective time management skills.
