Overview

Own the full lifecycle of family and youth engagement for the Middlesex and Monmouth Jewish community, serving 0-18 year olds. You will lead PJ Library and PJ Our Way programs, expanding reach through hyper-local initiatives and strategic partnerships. Report to senior leadership and collaborate with a mission-driven team to build lasting Jewish connections. This role stands out for its dual focus on early childhood and teen engagement, with direct oversight of part-time staff and a visible community presence.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Serve as the primary contact for families, building relationships and identifying volunteer leaders to support events.
  • 2Manage all PJ Library (ages 0-8) and PJ Our Way (ages 9-11) operations, including subscriptions, database tracking, budgeting, and community outreach.
  • 3Supervise part-time PJ Ambassadors, enabling hyper-local programs that attract new families to the community.
  • 4Drive teen and preteen engagement by expanding JServe, Israel and camp grants, and volunteer platforms.
  • 5Collaborate with community partners to maintain Jewish campus connections for college students.
  • 6Maintain a visible presence at community events, promoting cross-organizational engagement.
  • 7Set measurable goals for each program and use participation data to adjust strategies.
  • 8Develop a marketing strategy that strengthens social media presence and community outreach.

Requirements7

  • 13+ years in community engagement, program management, or a related field.
  • 2Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • 3Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • 4Demonstrated commitment to Jewish values and building inclusive communities.
  • 5Experience with program planning, volunteer engagement, and data tracking.
  • 6Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
  • 7Bachelor's degree in Jewish studies, social work, education, or related field.
