Teen Program Assistant, Curriculum & Youth Development
Overview
You will own curriculum development and program support for middle and high school participants across Kingsley's Teen LEAD and Tween LEAD programs. You'll build lesson plans aligned with SEL goals and the Developmental Assets framework, and deliver them in-person 3 days per week. You'll partner with program leadership, participants, and families to strengthen youth development in Pittsburgh's Larimer neighborhood. This contract role offers hands-on impact in a community center with a century-long legacy.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum for middle and high school participants, aligned with SEL goals and the Developmental Assets framework.
- 2Deliver in-person classroom support 3 days each week during summer and school-year sessions.
- 3Prepare classrooms, materials, and supplies daily, including setup and cleanup.
- 4Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that supports positive youth development.
- 5Build professional relationships with participants and families to support recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and retention.
- 6Support in-school recruitment visits during designated time frames.
- 7Communicate schedules, expectations, attendance, and program updates to participants and families.
- 8Coordinate day-to-day program logistics, including transportation, meals, supplies, and field trips.
- 9Maintain attendance records, data entry, and documentation for grant reporting and evaluation.
- 10Represent The Kingsley Association at community outreach events.
Requirements9
- 12-3 years of educational experience, preferably in youth programming.
- 2Experience developing lesson plans or curriculum for middle or high school-age youth.
- 3Familiarity with SEL frameworks and youth developmental assets models, or willingness to learn.
- 4Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- 6Current Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
- 7Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 8Availability for evening and weekend work, with a schedule of Monday through Friday after school to 6:00 PM.
- 9Capacity to work 15-20 hours per week, both in-person and independently.
