Overview
You will own clinical instruction and supervision for nursing students in pediatric rotations, shaping the next generation of pediatric nurses at International College of Health Sciences (ICHS). This role operates across inpatient pediatric units and clinics in the vibrant Boynton Beach area, with direct oversight of student skill development and evaluation. You will collaborate with academic leadership and clinical partners to deliver evidence-based pediatric curriculum, integrating pediatric assessment, growth and development, and family-centered care. The role offers evening schedules and the chance to mentor aspiring nurses in real clinical settings.
What You'll Do9
- 1Supervise and mentor nursing students in pediatric clinical settings, demonstrating best practices in pediatric assessment and age-appropriate communication.
- 2Ensure student compliance with clinical site policies, including pediatric safety standards for medication dosing, identification, and fall prevention.
- 3Provide timely, constructive feedback and document student performance in pediatric rotations.
- 4Deliver clinical objectives aligned with course outcomes, integrating evidence-based pediatric practices and current pediatric nursing standards.
- 5Participate in developing and evaluating pediatric clinical curriculum, including simulation and skills check-offs.
- 6Serve as a liaison between ICHS, pediatric clinical site staff, and students, maintaining professional communication.
- 7Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities related to pediatric nursing and nursing education.
- 8Complete accurate documentation of student attendance, progress, and evaluations for pediatric clinical courses.
- 9Report student or site concerns to academic leadership in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
Requirements10
- 1Unencumbered Florida or Compact State RN License required.
- 24+ years clinical experience as an RN, with 2+ years of recent pediatric nursing experience (inpatient pediatrics, pediatric clinic, or related setting) strongly preferred.
- 3BSN from an accredited school required.
- 4Experience in clinical instruction, preceptorship, or nursing education preferred.
- 5Strong clinical knowledge in pediatric nursing, including growth and development, pediatric assessment, and age-specific care.
- 6Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- 7Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and foster student growth in a clinical learning environment.
- 8Proficiency with electronic documentation and Microsoft Office Suite.
- 9Must reside within commuting distance of Davie, Florida; on-site presence at pediatric clinical locations required.
- 10Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings as needed.
