Nursing Clinical Coordinator, ADN Program & Clinical Placements
Overview
Oversee all student clinical placements, new site acquisition, and faculty orientation for the ADN program at Instituto College. You will also teach one clinical course and lead the skills lab. Coordinate with the Associate Dean of Nursing and clinical partners to ensure compliance and evidence-based learning. This role drives program quality and student success in a student-centered environment. You will implement evidence-based practices and enhance clinical education across the program.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and manage clinical placement schedules in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Nursing, using Microsoft Excel and scheduling tools.
- 2Secure new clinical sites and maintain current affiliation agreements, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.
- 3Lead faculty and student compliance with health screenings, immunizations, drug tests, and BLS certification, tracking deadlines in CAMS.
- 4Deliver clinical instruction and skills lab sessions, integrating simulation technologies and ATI resources.
- 5Implement remediation and tutoring sessions to bolster student learning and retention, using Canvas LMS for tracking.
- 6Evaluate student performance through skills check-offs and clinical evaluations, documenting outcomes in Typhon.
- 7Drive continuous improvement by analyzing program data for accreditation reports and readiness activities.
- 8Coordinate with clinical sites to provide rotations that meet course objectives, communicating via Outlook and phone.
- 9Participate in faculty and advisory committee meetings, contributing to program planning and policy updates.
- 10Orient new clinical faculty and students to policies, procedures, and clinical expectations.
Requirements10
- 1Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- 2Current RN licensure in Illinois.
- 3Current BLS (CPR and AED) certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- 42+ years teaching nursing students full-time preferred.
- 52+ years direct-care clinical nursing in medical-surgical preferred.
- 61+ year in remediation and tutoring support preferred.
- 71+ year simulation lab experience with current technologies preferred.
- 8Solid knowledge of ATI resources and college-level instructional technologies.
- 9Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- 10Ability to work independently and as a team, with strong time management and critical thinking skills.
