Nursing Assistant Instructor LPN RN, Clinical Education
Overview
Teach Nursing Assistant theory and fundamentals, and supervise students as they practice clinical tasks at Coastal Career Academy. You will report to the RN Program Director, evaluate student progress, and maintain records of attendance and grades. You will adapt lesson plans and provide hands-on training in skills like blood pressure checks and patient repositioning. This role includes acting as a clinical instructor at externship sites and ensures students pass the state certification exam.
What You'll Do10
- 1Demonstrate hands-on skills for the state certification exam within the first 90 days.
- 2Teach critical thinking and healthcare theory to prepare students for the state certification exam.
- 3Identify students struggling with material and provide alternative learning approaches.
- 4Train students in technical skills like checking blood pressure and respiration rate, and repositioning patients in bed.
- 5Teach safety and emergency procedures and how to respond to different patient behaviors.
- 6Follow and adapt pre-existing lesson plans as program needs evolve.
- 7Create own lesson plans to meet class and student needs.
- 8Act as a clinical instructor at 3rd party externship sites.
- 9Learn and implement new technology within a reasonable time.
- 10Evaluate student progress through observation and testing, and maintain records of attendance and grades.
Requirements10
- 11-3 years of relevant for-profit healthcare school experience (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2LPN or RN license.
- 31 year of teaching or public speaking experience (preferred).
- 43-5 years of nursing experience.
- 5Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours) and lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
- 6CPR certification (preferred, inferred from job requirements).
- 7First Aid certification (preferred, inferred from job requirements).
- 8BLS certification (preferred, inferred from job requirements).
- 9CNA license (preferred, from job posting).
- 10IV certification (preferred, inferred from job requirements).
Salary Insight
$73 - $83k per year
