Adjunct Nursing Instructor, Med-Surg Clinical
Overview
Deliver clinical instruction and supervision to undergraduate nursing students in Med-Surg settings. You will guide cohorts of 8-12 students through hands-on patient care, using evidence-based practice to bridge theory and application. Collaborate with a team of nursing faculty and clinical coordinators to ensure curriculum alignment and student success. This role offers direct impact on student competence and confidence in acute care environments.
What You'll Do7
- 1Supervise and instruct nursing students in Med-Surg clinical rotations, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- 2Facilitate pre- and post-conference discussions to reinforce critical thinking and clinical reasoning.
- 3Demonstrate and evaluate nursing skills in lab settings, using simulation and skills checklists.
- 4Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to promote skill mastery.
- 5Collaborate with clinical site staff to coordinate learning experiences and maintain positive relationships.
- 6Document student progress and submit grades in compliance with program policies.
- 7Attend faculty meetings and participate in curriculum development and evaluation.
Requirements6
- 1Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- 2Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
- 32+ years of recent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- 4Prior teaching or precepting experience preferred.
- 5Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- 6Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
