What You'll Do8

  • 1Prepare and dispense medications for pediatric and NICU patients, ensuring accurate dosing based on weight and clinical status
  • 2Verify and monitor medication orders in EPIC, flagging interactions or errors before they reach the patient
  • 3Collaborate with physicians and nurses to design and adjust drug therapies for neonates and children
  • 4Educate families and caregivers on medication administration and potential side effects in pediatric terms
  • 5Compile with hospital policies and Florida state regulations, maintaining accurate records in EPIC
  • 6Participate in daily rounds with the pediatric care team, offering pharmaceutical expertise on complex cases
  • 7Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of pediatric-specific medications and compounded preparations
  • 8Document interventions and outcomes in EPIC to support continuity of care and quality improvement

Requirements7

  • 1Active Florida pharmacist license in good standing
  • 22+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience, with pediatric or NICU exposure preferred
  • 3Proficiency with EPIC EMR for order entry and verification
  • 4Strong knowledge of pediatric dosing principles and high-alert medications
  • 5Ability to work either evening 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM or overnight 11:00 PM - 7:15 AM, rotating weekends
  • 6Willingness to commit to a 13-week contract starting August 25th
  • 7Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited program
