What You'll Do11

  • 1Oversee pharmaceutical care including retrieving biomedical literature and designing medication therapy regimens
  • 2Utilize patient education techniques to counsel patients and caregivers on medication use and adverse effects
  • 3Design and monitor patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens using current research
  • 4Implement quality assurance processes for medication use systems
  • 5Collaborate with healthcare team to manage formulary adherence and medication use processes
  • 6Assist in acquiring non-formulary and compassionate use medications
  • 7Prepare, dispense, and oversee medication storage following regulatory guidelines
  • 8Serve as preceptor for pharmacy students and residents
  • 9Mentor pharmacy support staff and evaluate team performance
  • 10Direct pharmacy support team members to ensure workflow efficiency and compliance
  • 11Demonstrate knowledge of pediatric growth and development principles to tailor patient care

Requirements11

  • 1Licensed pharmacist with ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree or FPGEC certification
  • 2Minimum 5+ years pediatric pharmacy experience or recent children's hospital background
  • 3Proven ability to interpret biomedical literature and apply findings to clinical practice
  • 4Strong communication and organizational skills with excellent documentation abilities
  • 5Physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds
  • 6Certification in life support courses depending on departmental needs
  • 7Ability to perform manual tasks like typing, data entry, and handling small materials
  • 8Functional vision and hearing with ability to read small fonts
  • 9Experience with EHR systems and automated dispensing technology
  • 10Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing medication handling
