What You'll Do11
- 1Oversee pharmaceutical care including retrieving biomedical literature and designing medication therapy regimens
- 2Utilize patient education techniques to counsel patients and caregivers on medication use and adverse effects
- 3Design and monitor patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens using current research
- 4Implement quality assurance processes for medication use systems
- 5Collaborate with healthcare team to manage formulary adherence and medication use processes
- 6Assist in acquiring non-formulary and compassionate use medications
- 7Prepare, dispense, and oversee medication storage following regulatory guidelines
- 8Serve as preceptor for pharmacy students and residents
- 9Mentor pharmacy support staff and evaluate team performance
- 10Direct pharmacy support team members to ensure workflow efficiency and compliance
- 11Demonstrate knowledge of pediatric growth and development principles to tailor patient care
Requirements11
- 1Licensed pharmacist with ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree or FPGEC certification
- 2Minimum 5+ years pediatric pharmacy experience or recent children's hospital background
- 3Proven ability to interpret biomedical literature and apply findings to clinical practice
- 4Strong communication and organizational skills with excellent documentation abilities
- 5Physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds
- 6Certification in life support courses depending on departmental needs
- 7Ability to perform manual tasks like typing, data entry, and handling small materials
- 8Functional vision and hearing with ability to read small fonts
- 9Experience with EHR systems and automated dispensing technology
- 10Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing medication handling
- 11Commitment to patient safety and continuous quality improvement
