Overview
Own the full biweekly payroll cycle for a multi-state workforce of 300+ across two legal entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Process new hires, compensation changes, and garnishments in ADP Workforce Now, and maintain employee data in our HRIS system. Partner with the HR team to deliver seamless onboarding and offboarding experiences. This role stands out because you'll shape payroll processes and support a diverse, bilingual team.
What You'll Do10
- 1Process the full biweekly payroll in ADP Workforce Now, verifying hours, deductions, and tax withholdings for 350+ employees.
- 2Review payroll registers and variance reports to catch discrepancies before finalizing the payroll run.
- 3Set up and administer employee garnishments, including court-ordered child support and creditor levies, with accurate reporting.
- 4Update employee records in Workday for new hires, terminations, transfers, and compensation changes within 24 hours of notification.
- 5Handle employee payroll inquiries via email and phone, providing clear and timely resolutions or escalating critical issues.
- 6Run standard and ad-hoc reports from ADP and Workday to support audits, benefits administration, and executive requests.
- 7Maintain garnishment deduction tables, ensuring compliance with federal and state wage garnishment laws.
- 8Own the employee data integrity in the HRIS, running monthly audits to prevent duplicate or missing records.
- 9Support benefits administration by reconciling monthly carrier invoices against payroll deductions and flagging discrepancies.
- 10Facilitate new hire onboarding in Workday, entering I-9 data and enrolling employees in self-service portals.
Requirements10
- 12+ years handling U.S. multi-state payroll, ideally with ADP Workforce Now or similar.
- 21+ years of biweekly payroll processing volume of at least 200 employees.
- 3Bilingual in English and Spanish with professional proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
- 4Working knowledge of payroll concepts like W-4s, FICA, FUTA, SUTA, and garnishments.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation.
- 6Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile payroll data under tight deadlines.
- 7Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and sit for 8-hour shifts.
- 8Associate's degree in accounting or business preferred; comparable payroll experience accepted.
- 9Certification: CPP or FPC a plus, but not required.
- 10Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
