HR Generalist / Payroll Coordinator, High-Volume Payroll

Own payroll processing and HR support for a high-volume hourly workforce, ensuring accurate and timely submissions. What You'll Do9
- 1Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees, conducting orientations and verifying work authorization documents
- 2Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, processing status changes, promotions, and separations
- 3Process weekly payroll for high-volume hourly staff, meeting submission deadlines and ensuring data accuracy
- 4Review payroll exception reports to catch missing info, unusual hours, or pay rate errors
- 5Approve preliminary payroll registers and confirm adjustments like retroactive pay and bonuses
- 6Respond to employee payroll questions on pay rates, deductions, and direct deposits
- 7Submit CalSavers contributions after each payroll run and maintain strict confidentiality
- 8Escalate payroll issues to the payroll processor and serve as primary HR contact
- 9Back up the HR Manager and support HR functions across the employee life cycle
Requirements8
- 13+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in high-volume payroll
- 2Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- 3Hands-on experience with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, or applicant tracking systems
- 4Proficiency in ADP, Paylocity, ABI, or comparable payroll systems
- 5Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills: sorting, filtering, formulas, reconciliation
- 6Strong written and verbal communication with professionalism and discretion
- 7Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with strong follow-up
- 8Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
