Overview

The Payroll Specialist will support weekly payroll processing for a temporary contract in Austin, handling data entry, inquiries, and payroll-related admin tasks at scale. They will back up the payroll administrator and help ensure timely, accurate payroll results. The role sits on-site with collaboration across payroll and HR teams. This position offers exposure to payroll legislation, audits, and program administration in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build payroll data from reports and spreadsheets to ensure accurate weekly payroll
  • 2Enter data for new hires terminations and employee changes
  • 3File payroll paperwork and maintain records per retention policy
  • 4Serve as back up payroll administrator and process payroll end-to-end when needed
  • 5Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and time off policies
  • 6Respond to payroll verification requests with accurate information
  • 7Assist with gathering information for payroll audits
  • 8Assist with administering the boot allowance program
  • 9Collaborate with HR and finance to resolve payroll discrepancies
  • 10Support other payroll administrative duties as assigned

Requirements9

  • 1Solid understanding of payroll best practices and accounting fundamentals
  • 2Knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations
  • 3Experience and proficiency with ADP Workforce Now
  • 4Ability to produce accurate results while meeting payroll deadlines
  • 5Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • 6Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite e.g. Word Outlook Excel
  • 7Trustworthiness and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • 8Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • 9Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
