Overview

Payroll Tax Specialist will own payroll tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions for a 3–4 month contract. You will ensure accurate tax calculations, timely submissions, and adherence to regulatory requirements at scale. Join a cross functional finance team in Plano with 3 days in office or as needed and opportunities to optimize processes. This role offers exposure to ERP systems and ongoing tax law updates, driving improvements for accuracy and efficiency.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Build payroll tax processes including calculations, withholdings, remittances, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
  • 2Prepare and file quarterly, annual, and other required payroll tax returns
  • 3Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • 4Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, notices, and employee inquiries
  • 5Maintain accurate payroll tax records and support internal and external audits
  • 6Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
  • 7Stay current on tax law changes and recommend process improvements or tax saving strategies
  • 8Support accurate and timely payroll processing including updates for hires, terminations, and pay changes

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 23+ years of payroll processing and payroll tax experience
  • 3Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulatory requirements
  • 4Experience with ERP payroll systems (SAP, Oracle, ADP, Workday, Ceridian Dayforce)
  • 5Proficient in Office 365, especially Excel
  • 6Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • 7Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high quality results
  • 8Commitment to excellent client service and accuracy
