Overview
The Patient Services Representative greets and instructs patients while directing visitors. They check patients in out efficiently and smoothly. This role provides excellent customer service to patients and office personnel. The position involves executing patient check-in processes and assisting new patients with intake forms.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet patients and visitors promptly with a professional and helpful demeanor
- 2Execute the patient check-in process by verifying and updating all demographic and insurance information at every visit
- 3Assist new patients with the completion of intake forms and ensure all digital and physical records are organized
- 4Collect co-pays co-insurance and outstanding patient balances
- 5Maintain real-time communication with clinical staff regarding scheduling updates
- 6Batch and balance all daily financial transactions and submit comprehensive activity reports
- 7Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and internal privacy protocols
- 8Participate in ongoing educational activities and staff meetings
- 9Perform other administrative duties as required to support the Director of Practice Operations
Requirements11
- 12+ years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting
- 2Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer-service orientation
- 3Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume fast-paced environment
- 4Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- 5Proficiency with medical billing software and Electronic Health Records
- 6High School Graduate or GED
- 7Physical demands: sitting for long periods, stooping bending stretching, occasional lifting up to 30 pounds
- 8Manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard telephone copier and other office equipment
- 9Vision correctable to 20/20 and normal hearing
- 10Ability to view and type on computer screens for long periods
- 11Work in a very stressful environment
